Had lunch with an old friend at Nota Bene (180 Queen Street West, Toronto) recently. It was a warm afternoon and I was seeking something lighter. While I’d usually pass on a chicken sesame salad, the green papaya listed as an ingredient seemed to catch my fancy. Peppered with petals, this mix with mint, coriander, and Thai basil was quite satisfying, both to the eye and to the tongue. The green papaya was the star of this dish – it was crisp with a bit of tang and a dash heat. Left up to me, I would have opted for more papaya and ditched the chicken entirely!

I’ve heard a lot about this restaurant! Everyone tells me that their food got better, so it makes me really want to try now. Great post, I love your pictures!
